A man was killed and dozens injured in a clash during a football match in Kishoreganj.
The incident occurred in Hasimpur village of Mithamain upazila on Saturday.
The deceased, Deen Islam, 45, son of Mafiz Mia of Hasimpur village, was a farmer.
Mithamain police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zakir Hossain Rabbani said: "An altercation broke out between two groups of footballers when some water was splashed on a female guest. The altercation soon turned into a vicious skirmish, leading to Deen’s death.
"The body was recovered and sent to a local hospital for autopsy. The injured were also admitted to hospital.”
Additional law enforcement officers have been deployed to prevent further unwanted situation, the OC added.
