Two suspected robbers have been killed during an alleged gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Chittagong.

The identities of the deceased could not yet be ascertained.

The “gunfight” ensued when they were robbing the people of a Dhaka-bound private car at Chhoto Kumira area under Sitakunda upazila early Tuesday.

RAB 7 sources said, sensing the presence of the elite force, the robbers opened fire at them.

In retaliation, they fired back. Later, the bodies of the two robbers were found lying on the spot.

Masuqur Rahman, assistant director (media) of RAB 7, said three firearms and 31 rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.
