Export and import activities through Banglabandha Land Port will remain closed for nine days, starting Saturday, due to the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.
Export-Import Association president Mehedi Hasan Khan Babla confirmed the matter.
Port authorities said exports and imports—among Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Bhutan—through the Banglabandha land port will cease between June 1 to 9 and resume on June 10.
The Export-Importers Association, Panchagarh C&F Agent Association, Banglabandha Land Port Limited and Labourers Union have taken the decision to cease trading for the nine days, and a letter in this regard has been sent to: exporters, importers, customs clearing houses, and forwarding agents.
However, the movement of passport-holder travelers through the check-post will continue as usual said, Banglabandha immigration check post Officer-in-Charge Izar Uddin.
