Police arrested three people on Tuesday for reportedly instigating a woman to commit suicide in Sharsha upazila of Jessore.
On Sunday, Hamida Khatun reportedly committed suicide, poisoning two of her children to death.
According to Hamida’s father and police sources, it was a bitter relationship between Hamida and her mother-in-law, Mariam Begum.
On Saturday, there was a quarrel between Hamida and Mariam. At one point, Hamida committed suicide on Sunday after poisoning her children to death.
Hamida’s father, Ahed Ali, filed a case on Monday against five, including Mariam, for his daughter’s death.
Sharsha police station OC Mashiur Rahman confirmed the matter and said, including Mariam, three of the five accused were arrested and produced in court on Tuesday.
