A college student jumped from a building to save herself from a sexual predator in the Pakulla market area of Mirzapur, Tangail.
On Sunday morning Tanjirul Hasan Jibon-area manager of a non-government organisation (NGO) named "Joogbani Shammajkallan"-chased the girl in his office located at Abdul Haque Building in the area.
The girl is now receiving treatment at Kumudini Hospital in Mirzapur, Tangail.
Her waist bones were broken as she jumped from the second floor, said Dr Mithun Kumar Roy.
According to sources, Tanjirul met the girl in a bus five days earlier and offered her a job introducing himself as an official of Bank Asia.
On Sunday around 11am, a female staff of the NGO called the girl to the office on Tanjirul's order.
When the girl reached the office, no one was there but Tanjirul. He then locked all the exits of the second floor and tried to lock the girl in his office.
Locals rescued her to hospital after she jumped from the second floor of the building.
Mirzapur police station Officer-in-Charge AKM Mizanul Haq said: "Police will take necessary action after the girl files a written complaint. We recovered her bag and phone from the spot."
