A woman has allegedly committed suicide after fatally poisoning her two children in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district.
The deceased are Hamida Khatun, 34, her daughter Sharifa Khatun, 12, and son Sohan Hussain, 5.
Locals claimed Hamida had been mentally and physically tortured by husband Ibrahim and mother-in-law Jamila Khatun.
They claimed that Ibrahim and his mother might have poisoned them.
Confirming the matter, Bagachra Police Investigation Centre In-Charge Sukdeb said: “The bodies were recovered around 11pm on Sunday and sent to Jessore for autopsies.”
He said details regarding the incident have yet to be known.
