A ninth-grade male student has been hacked to death by miscreants in Sadar upazila of Naogaon.
Locals found his body at his residence on Friday morning.
The deceased is Russell Hossain, 15, of Shailkupa village of Sadar upazila.
Naogaon Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Suhrawardy Hossain confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune saying: “Russell’s family was unable to reach him by his mobile phone since he had switched it off for last night’s prayers. Later, in the morning, locals found his body near his house.”
After being contacted, police recovered his body from the spot and sent it to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
There were signs of wounds to his body, the OC added.
