Meghna trawler capsize toll now 11

Rescuers have recovered the body of another person from Thursday’s trawler capsize in the Meghna River where 10 bodies were found earlier. The victim is Shilpi Begum, 32, wife of Abdus Sattar. All the dead were residents of Dhaka’s Rampura area. Sub-Inspector Maksudur Rahman of Sonargaon police Saturday said that a team of BIWTA rescue team had identified the body floating in the river in the morning. At least 10-12 persons have still remained missing, according to locals and families of missing persons. Some 30-40 people from Rampura started for Matlab of Chandpur to join a religious function at the shrine of Beltoli Solaiman Shah Thursday afternoon. It sank near Char Kishorganj area of Sonargaon due to stormy weather. The district administration of Narayanganj earlier announced Tk20,000 for each deceased.
