Police have arrested the former wife and father-in-law of Gabtoli police’s officer-in-charge ANM Abdullah Al Hassan for allegedly provoking suicide.
Rumana Akhter Mitu, 25, and her father retired army personnel Moksed Ali, 65, were picked up from their house in Shalgaria area of Pabna on Thursday night and brought to Bogra for interrogation, Gabtoli OC (investigation) Nuruzzaman said.

The duo were produced before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Shariful Islam on Friday morning. The judge granted the police five days to grill her and sent Moksed to jail as the police did not seek his remand.
The OC said that Mitu would be interrogated at the police station.
Hassan’s first wife Sultana Razia Rosy filed the case on Wednesday night, hours after his body was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his house in the police quarters.
The officer was buried at his village home in Natore after a post-mortem examination.
