A teen mother and child have reportedly been tortured by a young man in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at Gilar Chala village in Sreepur.
Police arrested the teenager, 19, in a case filed for the rape, and handed him over to the court.
On Tuesday morning, the youth found the fourth-grader alone at home and raped her when her parents left for work and also tortured her child physically.
Sreepur police station OC Sheikh Sadi confirmed and said: “The teen boy is from Netrakona Sadar upazila and his DNA-test is on process.”
Sreepur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Md Moinul Haque Khan said: “On Tuesday, the mother and the child were admitted into Sreepur Upazila health Complex for treatment.”
