Two children were raped in two districts on Friday, in which one perpetrator was arrested. Seven others were arrested in two districts, in separate matters, for a gang rape, and a rape case of previous week.
In Jessore, Protest broke in Sadar upazila after a five-year-old was reportedly raped.
The victim's mother alleged, on Friday evening her daughter was playing beside their house when a auto-rickshaw driver Babu,20, lured the child to his room with chocolates, and raped her.
Babu fled the scene when the girl screamed. Later the girl's mother informed locals, and the police.
Locals demonstrated in a protest rally on Saturday noon in Dharmatala area of the upazila demanding the arrest of the accused.
Inspector (investigation) Samir Kumar, of Kotwali Police Station, said a drive is underway to arrest Babu and the victim's mother was brought to the police station for questioning.
In Panchagarh, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man on Saturday, in connection with reportedly raping a woman on April 16.
Acting on a tip off, RAB 13 arrested Shahin,22, from his own home in Dhantala village of Debiganj upazila, Panchagarh. This was confirmed by RAB 13 Nilphamari Camp Company Commander Major Galib, via a press release.
Process is underway to transfer him to Debiganj Police Station.
On April 16, the woman was raped in Dhantala village while she visited a office to pay off her loans and was found alone by the perpetrator.
On April 24, the survivor filed a rape case with Debiganj Police Station and she had a medical test done on April 25 at Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital.
In Tangail, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped while she was sleeping.
According to locals, and the case statement, Wasim raped the girl, when he found her asleep on Friday evening, in Banichandabari village of Dhanbari upazila.
Locals rescued the girl covered in blood after she screamed for help.
The girl's mother filed a case around 11pm the same night.
OC Mojibur Rahman of Dhanbari Police Station said, Shahin was arrested from his own home in Chalash village, and produced in the court on Saturday, after primary interrogation.
The child was sent to Tangail General Hospital for medical test, the OC added.
In Moulvibazar, Police held a middle aged man on Friday, who is the primary suspect in a reported gang rape of a 17-year-old.
Police arrested Shukur Ali,35, ten days after the incident, from Tengra market area of Rajnagar upazila.
Previously, police arrested auto-rickshaw driver Hasan Mia,25, and four others following Hasan's confessional statement in connection with the rape.
The other arrested are, Bilal Mia,25, Jahangir Alam,26, Sujan Mia,22, and Sufian Mia,25.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Rashedul Islam, after confirming the arrests, said Shukur was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Moulvibazar on Saturday.
According to the police, on April 15, the teen was abducted by seven people, taken away in a auto-rickshaw, and later gang raped in Ashurighat area. The rapists also recorded a video of the incident, on a mobile phone, and threatened to publicize the clip if she disclosed the rape to anyone.
Following the incident, the survivor's mother filed a rape case at Kulaura Police Station, accusing Shukur and six others.
