A ninth-grader reportedly became pregnant after being raped in Kholadanga Paschimbara village under Sadar upazila of Jessore.
Jessore Kotwali Model police station OC Apurbo Hasan said: “The girl's mother filed a case on Wednesday against the rape suspect and his associate after the matter came to light.”
According to the case statement, a local named Mehedi Hasan, first raped the girl on February 14; Mehedi with Billal took the girl to an under-construction building around 8pm and raped her. He also molested the girl several times later.
Around 8pm on Wednesday, Mehedi again took the girl to a local poultry firm with Billal’s help and raped her.
Family members looking for the girl rescued her from the spot, but Mehedi and Billal had fled.
“The girl is reportedly two-months pregnant. So we sent her to hospital for medical tests on Thursday,” the OC said.
