A high school teacher in Panchagarh was caught with cannabis by the locals and later handed over to the police.
The detained, Shahinur Islam Shahin was a teacher of agriculture of the Balapara Ideal High School of the Boda upazila, Panchagarh.
Locals caught him with two packets of cannabis in Tokravasha area along the Panchagarh-Debiganj road on Monday before handing him over to police.
Locals said, Shahin fell off his bike at the Tokravasha market while going to school. Locals detected a packet of cannabis while trying to help him on his feet. They found another packet under the seat of his bike.
Agitated locals then reported the incident to the Debiganj Police Station, and police detained him from the spot.
Debiganj police station OC Rabiul Hasan Sarker confirmed the incident and said, police is in the process to file a case under the Narcotics Control Act.
