Cop run over by pickup van in Narayanganj

A constable of Bhulta police outpost has been run over by a pickup van in Narayanganj’s Rupganj upazila early Monday. The deceased is Mogal Hossain, 50, son of late Ahmmad Ali of Narsingdi. Bhulta police outpost in-charge Inspector Shahidul Islam said: “Mogal was on duty at Bangaket police check post on Dhaka-Sylhet highway. Policemen signalled a pickup van to stop but the driver of the vehicle sped away ignoring the police signal and ran the constable over around 4am.” Constable Mogal died on the spot, Inspector Shahidul said, adding that the speedy pickup van managed to flee the scene.
