An associate teacher at Kutirchor Government High School in Kamarkhand upazila, Sirajganj has been accused of sexually harassing two students.
The students’ guardians further allegedly that the teacher frequently beat up the boys to cover up the abuse.
The students in question are admitted at a local hospital for treatment.
The guardians have demanded that school authority promptly terminate the accused, and ensure exemplary punishment against him.
Locals claimed the accused teacher is a cousin of the school’s management committee’s president. They also alleged that he had gone into hiding.
Both the principal and the teacher were unreachable for a comment.
Other members of the committee refused to comment on the accusations.
Speaking to the Dhaka Tribune, Kamarkhand police station OC Habibul Islam said the parents of the two students had not filed any case regarding the allegation yet.
“We will look into the matter after the case is filed,” he added.
