5 die in separate incidents in Chittagong

Five people have died in separate incidents from Friday night to Saturday morning in Chittagong.

The deceased were identified as Md Mostak, Abdur Rahim, Abdul Monaf, Osman Goni, and Md Sohel.

Sub-inspector Jahirul Islam, in-charge of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital(CMCH) police outpost said Abdul Monaf, 22, who sustained injuries in a clash with his nephews over land on Friday afternoon, died at the hospital at night.

Abdur Rahim, 35, of Pekua upazila in Cox's Bazar fell ill at night, after consuming poison, following a brawl with his wife, and died at the hospital in the morning.

Besides, Md Mostak also took poison over a family feud, and died at the hospital around 1am.

Meanwhile, Osman Gani, 26, was killed in a road accident at Chittagong Customs House intersection while Md Sohel, 34, was killed in a road accident at Fakirhat in Sitakundu upazila at night.
