Women's Development Fair held in Moulvibazar

Moulvibazar District Administration and Women Affairs Directorate jointly organized the fair marking the International Women’s Day

Women’s Development Fair has been held for the first time in Srimangal, Moulvibazar centring International Women’s Day, with the theme – Think together, do something new, create new world for men and women.

On Monday, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Srimangal Nazrul Islam inaugurated the fair at the Upazila Parishad (UP) premises.

Journalists, UP chairman, government and non-governmental officials, along with various social, cultural, educational institutions, female NGO workers, children, students, and youth participated in the fair.

On the occasion of International Women's Day on Friday, Moulvibazar District Administration and Women Affairs Directorate jointly organized the fair and put up 10 stalls comprising of handmade daily necessities and locally made handicrafts.

Various cultural events were also arranged to mark the occasion.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) M Shahidul Alam, Senior Assistant Superintendent of police Md Ashrafuzzaman, Women Affairs Directorate officer Shaheda Akhter, Sadar Union Chairman Bhanulal Roy, Srimangal Press Club General Secretary M Idris Ali, Daily Kholachithi editor Sarfaraz Ali Babul, and Dr Pushpa Khastagir, were present in the program, among others.

At the closing ceremony, UNO Md Najrul Islam and Women Affairs Directorate officer Shaheda Akhter handed over prizes to the women present at the event.
