Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed called upon everyone to work together in order to preserve the constitution, country, and sovereignty.
The general was visiting the Ramu Cantonment in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday when he made the remarks.
He said: “The Bangladesh Army is working around the clock to provide a range of services to the Rohingyas for humane reasons. Cox’s Bazar has become a very important region as the Marine Drive, airport, power plants, and many other projects are being developed.
“The sitting government is pursuing Bangabandhu’s policy for the army, and doing a very good job at it.”
General Aziz called for trust in the high command, mutual faith, compassion, fraternity among the attending troops to become model soldiers.
He arrived at Ramu Cantonment at 11am. Ramu 10 Infantry Division GOC Maj Gen Main Ullah Chowdhury welcomed him.
Also in attendance were local members of the parliament, and district authorities.
