BSF picks up Bangladeshi from Lalmonirhat border

Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) have picked up an alleged cattle smuggler of Bangladesh from Khengti border of Lalmonirhat’s Patgram. The detainee, Nuruzzaman, 22, hailed from Khengti area of the upazila. Sources in Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said that the BSF personnel had detained Nuruzzaman around 4:30am Tuesday when he entered into India illegally. Confirming the matter, Lalmonirhat BGB 15 Battalion Director Lt Col Golam Morshed said that a flag meeting between Burimari Company Commander Subedar Forkanul Haque and Cooch Behar 61 BSF Battalion’s Changrabandha Company Commander Subedar Setaram Singh had been held over the matter. Details would be briefed later, he said.
