Police have recovered the body of a youth who reportedly committed suicide at his Gazipur house.
The body was recovered from his residence at Olua village in Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur around 11am on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Golam Rasul, 25, son of Safiuddin Ahmed, a deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Manwar Hossain said policemen found the body hanging by a rope from the ceiling fan of his room. It is being suspected that he might have committed suicide due to personal frustrations.
The deceased’s father Safiuddin Ahmed said: “After passing the HSC examination, he [Rasul] took admission into an Honors program and started looking for job. He hanged himself at some point on Friday night, as he had failed to get his desired job.”
“We are urging the administration not to perform an autopsy on him and hand the body over to family,” he added.
