A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the Minaupur border area in the Haripur upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Jenarul, 18, son of Abdul Toaf of the upazila.
Commander of the 42nd Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion Lt Col Gazi Nahiduzzaman confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.

In the early hours of Tuesday, BSF members of the Maldakh camp opened fire on Jenarul and some cattle traders when they gathered near border pillar no 354/1, leaving Jenarul dead on the spot.
Nahiduzzaman said: ”The body will be returned after the completion of all procedures after holding a flag meeting with BSF.”

The incident took place four days after the BSF shot and killed Jahangir Alam Raju, 21, of the Shahanabad village under the Ranisankail upazila, along the Dharmagarh border in Thakurgaon.
