Official mobile phone number of Narsingdi’s deputy commissioner (DC), also the district magistrate, has been cloned.
Deputy Commissioner Syeda Farhana Kawnine mentioned the occurrence by posting a message in her Facebook page around 10:30pm on Friday.
In the message, she said a gang of culprits is using her mobile phone number, either by cloning or through an app, to lobby towards different government or non-government institutions through text messages.
The deputy commissioner also urged everyone to report to her through email, or to nazarat deputy collector (NDC), if anyone tried to take advantage of the deputy commissioner’s name by using her official number illegally.
Meanwhile, all the upazila executive officers and assistant commissioner (Land) of Narsingdi were instructed to take necessary action to create public awareness.
Notably, demands for illicit activities were made to principals of different educational institutions recently, by cloning the number of sadar upazila executive officer.
