The Roads and Highways Department has started building an underpass across the Naogaon-Bogra Road in the Bridge Mor area of Naogaon town at a cost of Tk70 lakh.
Naogaon 5 constituency MP Barrister Nizam Uddin Jalil Jhon inaugurated the construction work at an event on Monday afternoon, with Roads and Highways Department Executive Engineer Hamidul Haq in the chair.
Among others, local Awami League leaders Rafiqul Islam, Ilias Tuhin Reza and Prodip Kumar Saha were present at the program.
Roads and Highways Department sources said the construction will reduce the traffic congestion in the town.
