The police has arrested BNP convener Khalid Hasan Utthan at Gopalpur municipality of Tangail.
He was arrested at Abhongi Mor on Thursday morning.
Gopalpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Al Mamun told the Dhaka Tribune: “Utthan has been arrested at the Abhongi Mor based on a tip-off that he was hiding in that area. There are four cases against him for which he was arrested. The two notable ones are murder of Chhatra League leader Imran and attacking the police.”
“Later, he was sent to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Tangail in the afternoon,” the OC added.
Utthan has been identified as the son of the late Osman Ali.
