Police have arrested Sherpur's Sreebardi Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman Abdullal Al Mamun Dulal and Kurikahonia Union Parishad Chairman Nur E Alam.
According to Sreebardi Police Station Officer in-Charge Ruhul Amin Talukdar, they were arrested in separate raids conducted by the police in the district.
On Tuesday, in a raid police had picked up Nur E Alam from the Kurikahonia union parishad area.
The next day, he was shown in court based on a drug related case and was subsequently sent to Sherpur central jail.
Later on Thursday, acting on a tip-off, police conducted another raid in the Sreebardi Government College area and picked up Mamun while he was returning home from a local mosque in the evening.
He was a previously wanted in multiples cases filed with the police station.
