Third victim of Ashulia gas pipeline blast dies

Five members of the family had suffered severe burn injuries in the leaked gas pipeline’s explosion and subsequent firein their house in Ashulia’s Jamgora Molla Bazar area on Friday morning

Another victim,Abdur Rouf, 25, of the gas pipeline explosion and fire in a house in Ashulia, Savar has succumbed to his injuries at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

DMCH police outpost’s Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia said Rouf had suffered 88% burns on his body and died in the early hours of Tuesday, reports UNB.

Earlier, Rouf’s mother Hasina Begum, 40, with 96% burns, and father Arab Ali, 50, with 60% burns, also succumbed to their injuries on Saturday and Monday, respectively.

Relatives said that the fire started when Hasina lit the stove in her kitchen to cook breakfast.

The other two injured were Rouf’s wife Ripa, 20, and their two-year-old daughter Ayesha. Both of them are still undergoing treatment at the DMCH burn unit.
