Police have recovered the body of a journalist from Jessore.
Daniel Habib, alias Nova Khandaker, 45, was found hanging in an under-construction room inside his own house around 11am on Monday.
Nova hailed from Bejpara graveyard area of Jessore town.
Nova's family informed the police after his sister found Nova's body hanging from the under-construction room around 10am, his father Ahsan Habib said.
Sub-Inspector of Kotwali model police station Shamim said, after being informed, police recovered Nova's body at around 11am.
His body has been sent to Jessore General Hospital for autopsy, Shamim said. "We will know of the cause of death after receiving the autopsy results."
Until his death, Nova had been unemployed for a long time. He used to work for the news portal "The Report". He was also the former office secretary of Journalist Union of Jessore.
Nova has a seven-year-old boy, who stays with his mother Shampa in Pabna.
He will be buried in Bejpara graveyard, his relatives informed.
Meanwhile, President Shaheed Joy and General Secretary Akramuzzaman, of the Journalist Union, have expressed their condolences at Nova's death.
