Four Bangladeshi nationals have been killed in a fire that broke out at a shop in Brits, North West Province, South Africa.
The fire broke out early Saturday, reports UNB.
The deceased are Anwar Hossain and his brother Mosharaf Hossain, of Feni; their maternal uncle Mominul Haque of Jagatpur village; and Mohammad Ibrahim of Jamalpur district.
Three of them worked at the shop while the other had come to visit them.
Witnessed said the fire broke out at the shop owned by Nurul Alam, of Rajshahi, around 2am GMT +2. The victims were asleep inside the store..
They tried to flee the shop, but failed and burned to death, the witnesses added.
Later, members of local fire service station doused the blaze and recovered the charred bodies.
The family members, however, allege that terrorists locked the shop from outside and set fire to it.
Meanwhile, Daganbhuiyan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Saiful Islam Bhuiya said Feni district administration will take necessary steps to return the bodies as soon as possible.
