Yaba tablets worth Tk2.12 crore have been recovered from Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members recovered 70,000 contraband tablets from a paddy field, in Moulvi Bazar area, in the early hours of Sunday.
In a statement, Teknaf BGB 2 Battalion Captain Lt Colonel Md Asadud Zaman Chowdhury said based on a tip-off, Nhila border outposts (BOP) members conducted a raid in the area.
They searched a hut and found the yaba pills in a plastic bag in a pile of dirt.
The yaba tablets will be destroyed in the presence of: senior officials, Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) representatives, local dignitaries, and media workers.
