The school administration has informed the upazila education officer about the matter. “Classes will be cancelled if the condition of the building is deemed risky,” said Md Luthfur Rahman, an official of Lohagara upazila primary education office. The building that houses four classrooms was built under the supervision of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in 2003. Officials at LGED's Lohagara office have so far failed to find out the name of the contractor who supervised the construction work. Osman Gani, an engineer of LGED's Lohagara office, said: “We have to examine the building to make sure whether other parts of the building were built using bamboo. We have notified the higher authorities about this.”
