A fifth-grade female student of a madrasa has been allegedly raped by her neighbour at Ashashuni in the Satkhira district.
According to local sources, Ayub Hossain of Ashashuni village took the girl to a bush near a pond forcefully by covering her face with piece of cloth while she was going to her aunt’s home on Saturday night. There he raped her and left her in a critical condition.
One Rajibulla heard the groaning of the girl while he was passing by Sunday morning. He rescued the girl and handed over to family members.
Later, she was admitted to the Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
Ashashuni police station Officer-in-Charge Biplob Nath said legal action would be taken against the rapist.
