Members of the Coast Guard have recovered 80,000 yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar.
The tablets were found during a raid in the Lomborighat area of Teknaf upazila, around 5am, on Monday.
The tablets are valued at approximately Tk4 crore.
Teknaf Coast Guard station in-Charge Lieutenant Commander Faizul Islam Mondol said: “We conducted a drive in the Lomborighat area after receiving a tip-off. Upon seeing the Coast Guard, the men involved with the pill-smuggling escaped. We searched the place and found 80,000 yaba tablets.
“We have kept the tablets at the Coast Guard office,” he added.
“We will continue to conduct drives against yaba,” Faizul said.
