Two have been killed and 15 others injured in a clash over land property in Brahmanpara upazila of Comilla.
The clash took place in Sidlai village of Brahmanpara on Saturday morning. The injured were admitted to Comilla Medical College and Hospital.
According to witnesses, Shamsul Haque and Liton groups from Sidlai village had a long standing conflict regarding land property.
In the morning, both the groups attacked each other with local weapons. At that time, Khorshed Alam, 45, died on the spot, while 16 others got injured.
Shanu Mia, 60, died after six of the injured were admitted to Comilla Medical Hospital.
Khorshed’s nephew Sohel Rana, who belongs to Shamsul Haque group, said because of the conflict his family had been staying away from Sidlai village for the last two years.
When they came to visit their house on Saturday morning, members of Liton group attacked them, Sohel claimed.
Officer-in-Charge of Brahmanpara police station Shahjahan Kabir confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
A case will be filed in this regard, he said adding that the bodies were sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
