Media workers formed human chains and held protest rallies demanding immediate arrest of those who murdered Ananda TV journalist Subarna Nodi in Kamarkhand of Sirajganj.
Under the leadership of Golam Kibria, journalists Enamul Haque Khokon, HM Monayem Khan, Ariful Gani Limon, Shishir Alam, MA Sabur, Rakibul Islam, Abdur Razzak and others gave speeches during the protest activities on Friday morning.
Criminals hacked Nodi, 30, the Pabna correspondent of Ananda TV, to death when she was entering her home in Pabna town around 10pm on August 28, and she died at Pabna Medical College Hospital the same night.
The victim's mother filed a murder case accusing Rajib Hossain, former husband of Nodi, Rajib's father Abul Hossain, and four to five people with Pabna police station on August 29.
The case was handed over to the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Police arrested Abul Hossain on August 30 and produced him before the Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court, said Md Monirul Islam, officer in charge (OC) of Pabna DB.
Pabna Chief Judicial Court Judge Rashed Hossain approved the three-day remand when police sought to place Abul Hossain on remand for seven days.
After the three-day remand, the court sent Abul Hossain to jail on September 2.
However, police are yet to arrest the rest of the suspects.
Journalists across the country protested the murder, while many prominent personalities demanded the arrest and exemplary punishment of the accused.
