Jhendiah police have arrested 51 people, including 10 BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, during a special drive.
Milu Mia, additional superintendent of Jhendiah police said, from Monday night to Tuesday morning, police conducted several drives in different parts of the district—to prevent criminal activities, sabotage, and narcotics trade.
At that time, they detained 10 BNP and Jamaat leaders and activists from the Sadar, Shailkupa, Kaliganj, and Maheshpur areas.
Other than that, police also arrested 41 others from six upazilas for various cases.
