Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 has arrested two individuals transporting a large quantity of phensedyl from Chapainawabganj.
They were arrested after RAB found 2,086 bottles of phensedyl in their pickup truck at Dariapur truck stand in Sadar upazila around 7:30am on Wednesday.
The pickup truck was also seized.
The arrested include truck driver Nurnabi, 36, hailing from Shibpur village of Gopalganj Sadar thana; and phensedyl-trader Ripon, 19, from Monakosha union of Shibganj Sadar thana in Chapainawabganj.
In a press briefing at 10am, RAB said that acting on a tip-off, a check-post was erected around 7:30am in Dariapur area. They stopped and searched a pickup truck at the check-post and found 2,086 phensedyl bottles hidden inside mango crates.
RAB stated that a case has been filed in Chapainawabganj Sadar police station.
