Eden College student Lutfor Nahar Ruma has been detained in Sirajganj for a cyber crime case which was filed after the recent quota reform protest in Dhaka.

The second-year sociology student was a protest leader.

She had been staying at her village home in Belkuchi Upazila for the last few days.

Belkuchi police’s Officer-in-Charge Abdur Razzak said a team of police’s cyber crime control detained Ruma for questioning. The cyber crime case was filed about the quota movement.

The team took her to Dhaka for questioning.

Additional Police Superintendent Abu Yusuf said a cyber crime control team approached them on Monday night for assistance. “I have heard that they detained a girl and took her to Dhaka,” he added.
