Over 50 teachers fell ill after taking biriyani served at a training program in Sirajganj on Tuesday.
Abdul Quddus, superintendent of the Primary Teachers' Training Institute (PTTI), said District Scout arranged the program where 222 teachers took part and 65-70 of them fell ill after consuming the biriyani.
Among the ill few took primary treatment and serious patients were admitted to the Sirajganj Sadar Hospital.
Teachers of the program said that contaminated biriyani caused the problem.
Nearly 65-70 teachers had fallen ill due to food poisoning, said Sanitary Inspector Mohammad Ali Jinnah, adding that a mobile court is conducting a drive against the supplier Hazi Nannah Biriyani of SS road.
The incident took place for the first time in the district, said District Scout Secretary Sanuar Hossain.
