Two finance and banking department students of Kushtia Islamic University have committed suicide in separate places, reportedly over their forbidden relationship.
The deceased, Rokunuzzaman and Munta Hena, were 2011-12 academic year students of the Islamic university.
The correspondent has learned that Rokunuzzaman was in a relationship with Munta Hina. After their families refused to accept this relationship, Munta Hina committed suicide by hanging herself inside her bedroom, in Jhenaidah, on Thursday evening.
Learning about Munta Hina’s suicide around 8pm, Rokunuzzaman jumped in front of a train in the Railgate area of Kushtia.
Poradah GRP police station Officer in-Charge Abdul Aziz has confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
