Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for Rangpur Range, Devdas Bhattacharya, has distributed helmets free of cost among motorcyclists plying the roads of Panchagarh without safety gear.
Visiting the Shaheed Minar area of Panchagarh on Wednesday, the DIG urged pedestrians and drivers to follow traffic rules and regulations.
Panchagarh Superintendent of Police Giasuddin Ahmed, municipality Mayor Touhidul Islam and district scouts Secretary Mofijul Islam were present at the event, among many police officials and transport leaders.
Scout and rover scout volunteers aided police personnel during the program.
