Customs officials have arrested an Indian national with $40,000 from the international check post at Benapole.
The arrested was identified as SK Jishan, 30, son of SK Moshraf Hossain of Iqbalpur in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Tipped off, a Customs department team conducted a drive around noon on Tuesday at the passenger terminal of the check post and arrested SK Jishan with the American currencyhidden away in his shoes,confirmed Customs official Chhobi Rani Dutta.
The seized US dollars were deposited with the Customs House, and a case was filed with Benapole Port police station.
