A suspected drug trader has been killed in a “gunfight” with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Bamandanga area under Sundarganjupazila of Gaibandha district.
The deceased is Abdus Salam alias Those Salam.
The incident took place early Tuesday, reports the UNB.
According to a SMS of RAB, acting on a tip-off, a team of elite force raided a house in the area. Sensing their presence, the drug peddlers fired gunshots at them first.
In defense, they fired back that left Salam dead on the spot.
Two RAB members were also injured in the incident, it said.
The team recovered a pistol and huge amount of drug from the spot.
