The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) detained an engineer of Bangladesh Railway’s Kulaura section for taking bribes.
He was later sent to jail.
A five-member ACC team went to the Kulaura Railway Station following a tip-off on Tuesday night and caught Md Erfanur Rahman , a senior assistant engineer, red-handed while taking a bribe of Tk 10,000 from an employee at the station master’s room, said anti-graft watchdog sources.
He was later handed over to the Kulaura railway police station, Moloy Kumar Saha, deputy director of ACC’s district office, said.
The commission filed a case against him on charges of taking bribes.
Police produced Erfanur to a Moulvibazar court on Wednesday afternoon and he was ordered to jail.
