Three brothers have been injured in an attack by youths in Khulna during the Argentina-France match in the World Cup tournament.
The siblings—Rezaul Karim Liton, Shafayetul Islam Bablu, and Shakhawatul Islam—are residents of Khalishpur area.
Of them, Rezaul is now undergoing treatment at the Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Quoting locals, Khalishpur police station Officer-in-Charge Sarder Mosharraf Hossain said people were watching the match on television at a local club on Saturday night.
Around 9pm, a group of youths were causing trouble during the match, and the club authorities made them leave, he said.
Enraged by this, the youths attacked the viewers with sharp weapons and clubsticks, leaving the three siblings injured.
Rezaul was hacked while the two others were assaulted, the police official added.
