6 killed in Tangail road accidents

They were all construction workers

At least six people have been killed and 28 others injured in separate road accidents in Kalihati and Ghatail upazilas of Tangail district.  

Five people were killed and 25 others were injured as a truck plunged into a roadside ditch in Kalihati upazila around 5:30am on Monday. 

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained yet. They were all construction workers.

Kalihati police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Mosharaf Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune: “A Sylhet bound truck plunged into a ditch when its driver lost his control over the steering in Shatutia bridge area Monday morning, injuring 30 people.

“The injured were taken to Tangail General Hospital, where five of them were pronounced dead.”

In another accident, a construction worker was killed and three others injured as a pickup van plunged into a ditch in Mogolpara area under Ghatail upazila around 9:30am.
