The motorcade of senior BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was hit by a bus on the Dhaka – Chittagong Highway in Comilla, killing one and injuring 12 others.
The accident took place in Amirabad area in Comilla's Daudkandi on Tuesday afternoon, Daudkandi Highway Police Station's Sub-inspector Abdun Nur said.
A Shyamoli Paribahan bus heading to Dhaka hit the motorcade at a U-turn. All of the victims were in the motorcade.
Chhatra Dal Daudkandi unit leader Jewel Pradhan Raihan, 20, was killed on the spot.
BNP standing committee member Mosharraf was taken to a local hospital with two others. The other eight injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
