Three people including a school teacher have been killed and two more injured after an easy bike collided with a truck in Gopalganj.
The incident took place near the Majhigati area of Kashiani upazila on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 2pm Wednesday.
The deceased are the headmaster of Joynagar Government Primary School Selina Begum, 48; her daughter Madaripur Char Muguria Government Primary School assistant teacher Ekamoni, 20; and Ekamoni’s daughter Maisha, 3.
Selina’s nephew Md Nadim said she set out from her village on an easy bike with her daughter, son, and grandchild to visit her father’s house in Kashiani upazila. After a while, the easy bike collided with a truck and careened into a ditch on the side of the road.
Selina and Maisha died on the spot, and Ekamoni, Bishal, and Kamrul were grievously injured. Ekamoni succumbed to her injuries after she was taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Kashiani police station Officer-in-Charge Azizur Rahman confirmed the matter, saying: “We have recovered two bodies from the scene of the crash, and the police are investigating the matter.”
