Three people have been killed and four others injured in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj district.
The deceased are Gopi Nath Sarker, 35, lecturer of Shahjadpur Mowlana Saif Uddin Yahya Degree College, 22-year-old Shohag Hossain, a student of Salanga Degree College and son of Dulal Sheikh, and Renuka Khatun, 38, wife of abdul Mannan of Ambaria village.
Tarash police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman said: “The driver of a Natore-bound bus lost control over his steering wheel and collided with a human hauler, locally called Leguna, around 7:15am on Thursday.”
He said Gopi died on the spot, while Shohag died on the way to the hospital.
The injured were sent to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital, where Renuka died under treatment.
The OC said they seized the bus and Leguna but the driver and helper fled the scene.
