Man allegedly rapes minor half-sister in Munshiganj

A 10-year-old child was allegedly raped by her half-brother in Adariatola area of Panchashar union in Munshiganj. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Finding his sister alone inside the house during the nor'wester that swept across the country on Saturday, the man allegedly raped her. Later, he took her to a local hospital by himself. According to the victim's mother, just like any other day, she had left her daughter at home and went to work in a factory. When she came back at around 2pm, she heard that her daughter had fallen off the roof. Later her daughter confessed that her elder brother Robel Khan had assaulted her. Sub-Inspector of Munshiganj Sadar police station Md Golam Kibria said: "After coming to know of the incident, I went to the hospital. An investigation has been launched against the alleged rapist after obtaining statements from the victim and her mother. They have also been advised to lodge a formal complaint in the police station." The victim is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
