A suspected child rapist has been killed during a “gunfight” with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Banshkhali upazila of Chattogram.
Abdul Hakim, alias Mintu, 30, died in the incident that took place Tuesday.
RAB 7 conducted a drive in the area based on intelligence to arrest Mintu and his accomplices.
Sensing the presence of the elite force, the criminals opened fire.
RAB officials retaliated by returning fire.
Later, Mintu was pronounced dead at Pekua Upazila Health Complex.
Two RAB members sustained injuries during the “gunfight” and received primary treatment.
